FVMT opens auditions for Surrey Robin Hood panto

Fraser Valley Musical Theatre is holding auditions Aug. 23 to 25 for Robin Hood, The Panto, its fall volunteer production in Surrey.

Auditions will take place at St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church in North Delta and are open to performers aged five and older, with no experience required. The non-Equity production will run on the Surrey Arts Centre Main Stage from Nov. 27 to Dec. 6.

Mike Balser will direct a cast that includes Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Little John, the Sheriff of Nottingham and Nurse Nora, the traditional dame role. Warren McWilliams wrote the script, while Ashley Trimble is music director and Vanessa Quarinto is choreographer.

The Surrey-based company will also hold its annual general meeting at 1 p.m. Aug. 30 in the picnic area south of the theatre parking lot at Bear Creek Park. Its meeting agenda lists Come From Away and a Miscast Broadway Concert among planned productions for next spring.
