201A Street to lose northbound access for SkyTrain work
Construction on the Surrey Langley SkyTrain extension will bring two rounds of partial closures to 201A Street in November. From Nov. 15 to 28, northbound traffic between Fraser Highway and Industrial Avenue is expected to be blocked.

A road linking Industrial Avenue and Fraser Highway will face partial closures for much of November as crews continue work on nearby SkyTrain columns and the guideway. The Surrey Langley SkyTrain project’s latest traffic notice outlines two rounds of restrictions on 201A Street.
From Nov. 1 to 7, between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. each day, traffic was scheduled to alternate through a single lane between Industrial Avenue and Fraser Highway. Beginning Nov. 15 and expected to continue until Nov. 28, the street is to become one-way, with no northbound access between Fraser Highway and Industrial Avenue.
The change is one of many traffic disruptions along the new SkyTrain extension, which has been under construction since fall 2024. Most of the route follows Fraser Highway, but it turns north at the Langley Bypass. It then follows a former alley north of Fraser Highway, which has been closed to cars for months, before continuing along Industrial Avenue from 200 Street to the terminus, Langley City Centre station, at 203 Street.
Named the Dave Barrett Extension after the late former NDP premier, the project is expected to be completed and open by late 2029.
