Five foreign nationals charged in B.C. extortion investigation
The RCMP says the investigation began in June 2025 after an auto dealership’s co-owners reported extreme extortion demands; police expect partner forces to lay more charges soon.

Five foreign nationals have been charged in connection with extortion-related crimes in B.C., the RCMP announced Friday. Supt. Harm Dosange, officer in charge of the Langley RCMP, said the investigation began in June 2025 after co-owners of an auto dealership reported “extreme extortion demands.” Dosange said the matter was followed by arson and shootings in Langley and Surrey.
Police said four men were arrested in Surrey on Thursday as part of Project E_PURSUANCE. A fifth man, a resident of India, was arrested at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Dosange said investigators identified a group allegedly involved in extortions through a dedicated project team and extensive operations in Canada and internationally. They also identified alleged firearms trafficking and drug trafficking.
Police seized numerous dangerous items, including firearms and drugs suspected to be cocaine, fentanyl and opium, Dosange said. Investigators also obtained evidence identifying additional suspects and supporting other extortion-related offences across Western Canada. The team is sharing that evidence with policing partners in Western Canada and elsewhere in Canada, and expects those partners to lay more charges in the very near future.
