Canada Disability Benefit and Canada Child Benefit payments due Thursday
Eligible Canadians are set to receive Canada Disability Benefit and Canada Child Benefit payments on Aug. 20, with amounts based on income and household circumstances.

Eligible Canadians can expect Canada Disability Benefit and Canada Child Benefit payments on Thursday, Aug. 20. Ontario and B.C. counterparts are also due that day.
The Canada Disability Benefit supports eligible people aged 18 to 64 who live with a disability. Applicants generally need an approved Disability Tax Credit and must meet residency-status requirements; people applying with a spouse or common-law partner must both have filed 2025 federal income tax returns.
For July 2026 through June 2027, the maximum CDB payment is $204.20 a month, based on adjusted family net income from the 2025 return. Back payments may be available for up to 24 months from the date an application is received, but not for eligible months before June 2025.
The tax-free Canada Child Benefit helps eligible families with children under 18. The annual maximum is $7,997 for children under six and $6,748 for those aged six to 17; payments depend on income, number of children and their ages. Families may also receive up to $290 a month for each child eligible for the Child Disability Benefit.
