Restaurant break-and-enter suspect found hiding in crawl space, New Westminster police say
Police say a man was arrested after officers responding to a suspected restaurant break-in found him in a crawl space above the kitchen.

New Westminster police say a man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a restaurant and hiding from officers last week.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, two witnesses approached a New Westminster Police Department officer to report a possible break-in at a restaurant near 10th Street and Carnarvon Street, police say.
Officers arrived to find broken glass and a masked person inside the restaurant. Police said additional officers contained the property and repeatedly announced that the suspect should surrender.
Police deployed a drone and a police dog during the search. Officers then entered the restaurant for a secondary search and found the suspect hiding in a small crawl space above the kitchen area, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and arrested for break and enter. Police say the accused was held pending a bail hearing.
