One in hospital after Aldergrove shooting; suspect arrested

One person was taken to hospital after a shooting in Aldergrove on the evening of Aug. 24, and Langley RCMP say a suspect was arrested shortly afterward.

Police were alerted just before 7:30 p.m. to a shooting in the 26900-block of 26A Avenue. The victim was reported to be in stable condition in hospital Monday night.

RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said responding officers located the suspect vehicle a short distance away and carried out a high-risk traffic stop. One person was taken into custody.

Police said residents and commuters could expect road closures and a police presence in the neighbourhood, but that there was no risk to the public.
