Police are seeking dash-cam video after a driver reported another motorist got out of his vehicle and allegedly displayed a weapon near Sixth Avenue and Eighth Street.

New Westminster police are seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage after an alleged road-rage incident in which a driver reportedly displayed a weapon.
The New Westminster Police Department says it received a call at about 4:15 p.m. Sept. 2 from a driver who reported another motorist got out of his vehicle and allegedly brandished a weapon near Sixth Avenue and Eighth Street.
Police describe the suspect as a slim man in his 40s with a mustache and balding hair. He was driving a red Dodge Ram.
“Brandishing weapons in traffic is not acceptable,” Sgt. Andrew Leaver said in a statement, asking the public to provide relevant dash-cam footage. Investigators want to speak with anyone in the area between 4:10 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. who witnessed the incident or captured video. Anyone with information can call 604-525-5411 and ask for the Watch Commander, citing file 26-15256.
