Showers may disrupt Vancouver long-weekend plans
Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts a 40 per cent chance of overnight showers Friday, followed by a brief return of sunshine Sunday before clouds settle in again.

Environment and Climate Change Canada says clouds will begin forming in Vancouver on Friday, Sept. 4, as the Labour Day weekend starts. The high is expected to reach 20 C and the UV index is forecast to peak at five, or moderate. The temperature is expected to fall to 13 C overnight, with a 40 per cent chance of showers.
Meteorologist Chloe Katsademas said the weekend should begin clearly, though ongoing troughing, cooler air and moisture leave a chance of showers. She said September is expected to follow a similar pattern, with several improving days followed by several days of showers.
Sunshine is forecast to return Sunday, Sept. 6, but clouds are expected to return that evening and remain through Thursday, Sept. 10. Daytime highs over the next week are forecast to stay between 20 C and 21 C, with overnight lows between 12 C and 14 C.
