METRO VANCOUVER NEWS
Vancouver warmth expected to give way to cooler weekend weather
Vancouver is forecast to reach 25 C Thursday and 26 C Friday before temperatures fall to about 21 C Saturday, when showers are possible.

Vancouver is expected to remain warm through the end of the workweek before a cooler, unsettled weekend arrives.
Environment and Climate Change Canada forecast a high of 25 C Thursday and 26 C Friday. On Aug. 17, the high was 23 C, or 26 C inland, with humidex values reaching 28 and 31 respectively.
Saturday is forecast to bring a high near 21 C and a chance of showers. Sunday is expected to be mainly cloudy, with a high of about 22 C.
Looking further ahead, Environment and Climate Change Canada research scientist Bill Merryfield said a potentially historic strong El Niño could bring major global effects. He said B.C. could see a notably mild winter, with more winter precipitation falling as rain rather than snow and affecting snowpack.
