Doorbell camera captures wildfire closing in on B.C. couple’s farm
A Boston Bar-area couple watched a doorbell-camera feed as wildfire burned parts of their property after an evacuation order. Their farmhouse and animals were later reported safe.

A B.C. couple evacuated their farm near Boston Bar on Tuesday after learning a new evacuation order was in effect and Highway 1 had closed. Tami Dalpadado and her husband had been in Hope buying livestock feed when the fire rapidly developed.
They returned to their 100-acre property briefly to turn on sprinklers, collect pets and release farm animals. Dalpadado said the fire was roughly 500 yards away as she put the dogs in the car, and the couple left Simba, their livestock guardian dog, and sheep behind.
While driving toward Surrey, they watched their doorbell-camera feed as flames reached the property. They saw a chicken coop and other outbuildings, vehicles and machinery burn.
A structure-protection team was later seen on the property searching for Simba. On Wednesday afternoon, the couple learned their farmhouse was still standing and their animals were safe.
