Public asked to avoid North Vancouver trail network after bear swipes man
A man walking alone in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve was swiped on the leg by a bear Monday morning, conservation officers said.

Conservation officers are asking people to avoid the Richard Juryn trail network in North Vancouver's Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve after a man was swiped on the leg by a bear Monday morning.
The man was walking alone at about 8 a.m. when the bear followed him for some time despite his attempts to scare it away, the B.C. Conservation Officer Service said. Officers responded but had not seen the bear.
The agency is continuing to search for the animal and asks anyone who sees a bear to report it at 1-877-952-7277.
