North Vancouver watermain break floods road and delays traffic

A Metro Vancouver watermain break flooded part of a major North Vancouver intersection Friday afternoon.

The District of North Vancouver said the break occurred at Marine Drive and Capilano Road. A district spokesperson said crews are working with Metro Vancouver to repair the damaged regional water infrastructure.

The intersection remains open, but one lane has been closed during repairs. Traffic-control personnel are on site to manage vehicle flow.

Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible while crews work. Officials have not released the cause of the break or an expected completion time for repairs.
