Several economic releases, corporate results and industry events are scheduled for the Canadian business world in the coming week.

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s two-day Canada Investment Summit begins Monday in Toronto. The summit is expected to bring together global investors, senior Canadian executives and government representatives, with a goal of helping facilitate $1 trillion in total investment in Canada over the next five years.

Statistics Canada will publish its August consumer price index Monday morning. Annual inflation rose to three per cent in July, helped by higher gasoline prices. Excluding gasoline, the annual rate was 2.2 per cent.

Two key reports on the Canadian housing market are also expected. The Canadian Real Estate Association is expected to release August home sales figures Tuesday, followed Wednesday by housing-start figures from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.

Dollarama Inc. will report its second-quarter results and hold a conference call with investors and financial analysts Wednesday morning. The retailer reported higher first-quarter profit and sales than a year earlier while pursuing growth in Canada and internationally.

The All In AI tech conference opens Wednesday in Montreal. Experts, researchers, business leaders and political leaders are expected to discuss Canada’s AI ecosystem and the development of an AI-powered economy, as concerns about AI safety continue to rise.
