Coquitlam council has granted Quantum Properties a second one-year extension for an approved six-storey, 156-unit strata development. The developer requested more time to meet servicing and legal requirements.

Council approved the development in 2024 across six lots in the 500 block of Harrison and Kemsley avenues, as well as part of Gardena Drive north of Como Lake Avenue near the Burnaby border. City staff authorized the first one-year extension in 2025 after some conditions had not been met before the original deadline expired.

The project includes 93 studio and one-bedroom units, 19 of them with dens, along with 46 two-bedroom and 17 three-bedroom units. Coun. Robert Mazzarolo voted against the latest extension, saying he had originally opposed the project because he considered the number of smaller units excessive.
