Irving Oil CEO Jeff Matthews to retire Nov. 1
Irving Oil says its board has completed its search for a successor to Jeff Matthews, whose replacement will be announced later.

SAINT JOHN — Irving Oil says president and CEO Jeff Matthews will retire on Nov. 1, and the company will announce his successor at a later date.
The company said its board of directors has completed its search for the next CEO. Matthews became president and CEO in January 2025, after Irving Oil completed a strategic review that began in 2023.
Matthews has worked at Irving Oil for 32 years and previously served in roles including chief business development officer and chief financial officer. Lead director Maureen Kempston-Darkes said in a news release that his leadership has positioned the company for success.
The New Brunswick-based energy company confirmed in January 2025 that it would remain privately held following the strategic review.
