RCMP respond to ‘serious incident’ in Maple Ridge
Maple Ridge RCMP responded near 287 Street and 112 Avenue Tuesday night in an investigation being led by Richmond RCMP, police say.

Maple Ridge RCMP says officers responded to what it called a “serious incident” near 287 Street and 112 Avenue on Tuesday evening. Police posted shortly after 9:30 p.m. that they were in the area.
In a Wednesday release, police said the response included the BC RCMP Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, frontline officers and plainclothes units. The matter is part of an ongoing investigation led by Richmond RCMP, with Maple Ridge RCMP and other partner agencies assisting, police said.
Images from the scene showed emergency vehicles along a rural road and officers working with police dogs. Police said they also received an unrelated report of shots fired on Lougheed Highway near Carshill Street at about the same time.
