“You’re not taking my bike”: RCMP say impaired riding suspect arrested after fleeing
A 41-year-old man on an electric dirt bike fled police in Mission last week and refused a roadside breath screening, RCMP say. He was arrested, given a 90-day driving prohibition and ticketed; his bike was towed.

A 41-year-old man riding an electric dirt bike fled police and refused a breathalyzer in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley last week, according to authorities. RCMP say he was arrested and his bike was seized.
Officers spotted the rider in Mission and tried to stop him because electric dirt bikes are illegal on city streets, according to an RCMP statement. The rider told an officer, “You’re not taking my bike,” then sped away. Police stopped him a short time later.
RCMP said the man showed signs of impairment by alcohol and refused to provide a sample to a roadside screening device. He was arrested for fleeing police, given a 90-day driving prohibition for refusing to comply with a breathalyzer demand, and ticketed for violations of the Motor Vehicle Act. Mission RCMP said the officer took the bike to a tow yard.
People caught illegally operating an electric dirt bike on public streets can face a $598 fine for driving without insurance, in addition to other penalties, authorities said.
