Isaac Oliveira Scott, 29, of Victoria has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and three firearms offences, RCMP say.

Oliveira Scott was extradited from Germany in April after his arrest on an Interpol red notice. The RCMP’s Federal Policing Pacific Region escorted him back to Canada.

Police say their investigation began in December 2022 and uncovered an alleged operation using the dark web, cryptocurrencies and Canada Post to distribute illicit drugs, including fentanyl pills, across Canada. A February 2024 search of a Metro Vancouver home led to the seizure of stolen firearms, ammunition, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, cash, drug paraphernalia and fraudulent identification, police said.

Investigators believe Oliveira Scott left Canada in May 2025, before charges were laid. RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Bennett described the investigation as complex because suspects allegedly used the dark web to conceal their activity.

A second suspect, 28-year-old Treshaun Thompson, faces six charges connected with trafficking and possession of an identity document without lawful excuse. Police say his whereabouts are unknown and that there was no known link between his reported disappearance from Victoria’s Rockland area in September 2025 and the investigation.
