Indigenous-led Whistler tour featured in Destination Vancouver campaign
Talaysay Tours has partnered with Intrepid Travel Canada on a two-hour Indigenous-led walking experience at Lost Lake in Whistler.

Talaysay Tours, a company operated by Talaysay Campo and her mother, Candace Campo, has begun working with Intrepid Travel Canada on an Indigenous-led walking experience in Whistler.
The two-hour We Are the Land tour takes visitors through the Lost Lake area. Campo said the experience shares Indigenous knowledge and the enduring relationship between her people and the mountains, including teachings about local plants, sacred medicines and traditional uses of the land. Amira Carrier co-guides the walks.
Talaysay Tours has operated for more than two decades. Intrepid said its research found 57 per cent of Canadians are interested in Indigenous-led tourism, while 18 per cent have taken part. In a separate survey of 8,000 global travellers, 74 per cent said they would consider experiencing local Indigenous culture and supporting Indigenous businesses while travelling.
Christian Wolters, president of Intrepid Travel Canada, said partnerships shaped by Indigenous tourism businesses are central to the company’s approach to responsible travel. Campo also appears in a Destination Vancouver video featuring local plants with healing properties. The video is part of the Recouver in Vancouver campaign, which includes City in Nature, Wellness, Culinary and Neighbourhoods themes.
