Jordan Carrier to open for The Wheat in the Barley at Club 240
White Rock singer-songwriter Jordan Carrier will open for The Wheat in the Barley at Club 240 in South Surrey on Aug. 29.

The Wheat in the Barley will return to Club 240, also known as The Crescent Legion, in South Surrey on Saturday, Aug. 29, with White Rock singer-songwriter Jordan Carrier opening the show.
The 8 p.m. concert at 2643 128 St. will feature the White Rock-based Celtic and multicultural folk group’s mix of traditional, popular and original material.
Founder Steve Gidora said Carrier’s opening set will give fans an opportunity to hear him in a more intimate setting. Carrier has been a member of Fear of Houses, Jordan Carrier and the Soviets, and Cozy Bones. His Soviets project won the 2008 Fox Seeds competition, and the single “Club People” from Absence Of Wonder became a local hit on 99.3 The Fox.
Carrier recently appeared in Club 240’s Songwriters concert series, co-produced by Neil Harnett and Gidora. He is also scheduled to open for The Spoons on Aug. 27 in White Rock’s TD Concerts at the Pier series.
Admission is $25 at the door. Reservations can be made by e-transfer to Gidora at sgidora@hotmail.com.
