White Rock pop-up choir event to celebrate Dolly Parton’s music

Peninsula United Church will hold its next Choir Not Choir event on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at 15385 Semiahmoo Ave. in White Rock. The pop-up choral gathering will celebrate songs from Dolly Parton’s career.

Tom Barichello of Peninsula United said the event requires no audition or previous singing experience. Several Choir Not Choir events have already been held this year, including one during Pride Week. Coffee, tea and snacks will be available afterward.

A representative from Sources Community Resource Centre will attend for people who wish to donate to the Imagination Library, in recognition of Parton’s contributions to children’s literacy. Sources says its Imagination Library has delivered more than 49,000 free books to over 1,600 children in Surrey and White Rock since 2010.
