Free parking ends at Richmond Centre’s new underground parkade
Richmond Centre has begun charging for parking at the 785-space Park Plaza underground parkade, which had offered free parking for up to four hours for nearly a year.

Richmond Centre has ended free parking at the underground parkade serving Park Plaza. The mobility hub, which opened in late November, has 785 spaces for mall patrons and residential visitors and had allowed parking for up to four hours at no charge for nearly a year.
The mall converted the Park Plaza parkade to paid parking late last week. Julia Dow, general manager of CF Richmond Centre, said the property’s parking strategy has changed as the mall has undergone a significant transformation.
Dow said customers still have access to more than 1,700 free parking spaces with a four-hour limit, along with new street parking across the property. The parkade includes pay-per-use EV charging, bicycle storage, and car- and bike-share facilities.
Escalators and two elevators connect the parkade to the main level of Park Plaza, a new common outdoor area between the residential condominiums and the mall. The main underground-parking entrance is on Minoru Boulevard at Mah Bing Street.
