Savannah Erasmus brings Indigenous fashion comedy to Vancouver Fringe
Performer Savannah Erasmus will debut Fashionably Late at the Vancouver Fringe Festival, blending comedy, storytelling and Indigenous fashion from Sept. 10 to 20.

Savannah Erasmus will make her solo-show debut at the Vancouver Fringe Festival with Fashionably Late, a 50-minute mix of standup, storytelling and Indigenous fashion.
The three-act show follows Erasmus as she navigates anxiety, ADHD and the pressure of finding the right outfit before an event. It opens with her in a Hollywood-style dressing gown and moves through a series of looks that do not feel right.
Erasmus said the show also explores the confidence she finds through Indigenous fashion and jewellery. She will present traditional ribbon skirts from her own collection while discussing the history of the modern ribbon skirt and other elements of Indigenous fashion.
The final act brings those traditional and contemporary elements together in a final outfit. Erasmus describes the production as both funny and personal, and as a celebration of Indigenous culture, representation and visibility.
Fashionably Late runs Sept. 10 to 20 at the Revue Stage on Granville Island. Show times and additional information are available at www.savannaherasmus.ca/fashionably-late.
