Newton’s Spooktacular Halloween street festival returns Oct. 24
Spooktacular Newton will close a stretch of 137 Street on Oct. 24 for a free, family-friendly Halloween festival, with a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, haunted train rides and more.

A Newton street will be closed to traffic on Saturday, Oct. 24, for Spooktacular Newton, billed as Surrey’s only free, family-friendly Halloween street festival. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 137 Street between 72A and 74 avenues.
Activities include a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, mini golf, haunted train rides, a kids’ fun zone, face painting, food trucks, bouncy castles and games. The Newton Business Improvement Association website says the event has something for everyone and highlights special dance performances by City Entertainment: https://www.newtonbia.com/program-listings/spooktacular-newton/.
Donations to the Urban Pumpkin Patch, in cash or non-perishable food, will benefit Surrey Food Bank. The annual event runs rain or shine and is car-free; nearby parking is limited.
Last year, goblins, fairies, ghosts and other creatures came out for an afternoon of Halloween fun: https://surreynowleader.com/2025/10/28/candy-costumes-and-community-at-spooktacular-newton/.
