Whistler ranks 19th globally for seasonal work, Remitly study says
A Remitly study places Whistler 19th among global destinations for seasonal work and ninth for ski-season work, the only North American destination in its overall top 20.
Whistler has been named the 19th-best destination in the world for seasonal work in a study by online financial services company Remitly. The resort municipality was the only North American location in the overall top 20, with a score of 58.3 out of 100.
The same score placed Whistler ninth in Remitly’s ranking of ski-season work destinations. Banff, Alta., rounded out that top 10 with a score of 55.8.
Japan’s Niseko ranked first in both categories. Remitly said New Zealand was the strongest-performing country overall, with eight destinations in the top 20.
The company said it scored each destination using five factors: cost of living, rent affordability relative to the local minimum wage, available activities, job demand and safety.
