Surrey newlyweds spend their wedding night at Delta music festival
Kevin Krieger and Sarah Mayes Krieger joined thousands of fans at Barnside Harvest Festival after their Sept. 12 wedding near Ladner.

Surrey couple Kevin Krieger and Sarah Mayes Krieger spent their wedding night at Barnside Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 12, after exchanging vows at nearby Heron Bay Stables in Ladner. Wearing formal attire, they brought their wedding party — 11 people in all — to the concert at Paterson Park.
The three-day festival drew 28,240 ticket-holders, with Smash Mouth and Big Wreck headlining Saturday. Sarah said the couple had always planned to return to the festival after their vows, since it happened to fall on their wedding weekend. Photos of her in a wedding gown and Kevin in a suit and tie drew attention on social media. She said the dress helped them reach the front of the stage for Smash Mouth’s set. After the concert, Smash Mouth singer Zach Goode met the couple, gave them a set list and took a selfie.
Other headliners at the fourth annual festival included Marianas Trench, J.J. Wilde, Tom Cochrane and Kim Mitchell, alongside other acts performing on three stages. Delta-based Barnside Brewing Co. has produced the festival since 2023, and event planners promise at least two more years. The couple, who first attended last year, said they hope to return next year and make it an anniversary tradition.
