Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shots-fired incident in South Surrey on the evening of Oct. 8, 2026. At about 6:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a residential complex in the 100 block of 175A Street. Two suspects, described as men wearing dark clothing, reportedly fled on foot. Police do not know whether they were connected to any vehicles. Officers contained and searched the area with help from the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service, but did not locate the suspects. Police found a person at the scene whom they believe may have been the intended victim; the person was not injured. No injuries have been reported, and it is unknown whether any property was damaged.

SPS investigators and Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) officers will remain at the scene throughout the night and possibly into the following day to speak with and canvass for witnesses and search for physical and digital evidence. Police say there is no indication at this early stage that the incident is extortion-related, but they believe it was targeted.

Anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, can call the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-108223 (SP), or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The release also lists file number 2026-108223 (SP).
