Surrey library to screen documentary for International Overdose Awareness Day
A free screening of No Fixed Address: The White Cart Memorial and a panel on grief and homelessness are planned at Surrey City Centre Library on Aug. 31.

A coalition of organizations will screen the documentary No Fixed Address: The White Cart Memorial at Surrey City Centre Library on International Overdose Awareness Day, Aug. 31.
The event runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Library Room 120 at 10350 University Dr. A panel discussion on grief and homelessness will follow the film. Admission is free, though organizers ask attendees to register in advance.
The documentary centres on people experiencing housing instability in Kelowna and examines grief after the death of someone they care about. Organizers describe it as both a tribute and a call to action during the toxic drug crisis.
Support for the screening includes Surrey CAT, the BC Centre for Palliative Care, the Kelowna Homelessness Research Centre at UBC Okanagan, Community Action Initiative, the Vancouver Foundation and the Surrey-North Delta Division of Family Practice and Shared Care.
