Richmond RCMP seek witnesses in assault investigation

Richmond RCMP are seeking public help to identify a suspect in an assault that occurred in northeast Richmond earlier this summer.

At about 7:30 p.m. on June 28, 2026, a woman was walking on Greenland Drive near No. 5 Road when an unknown man on a bicycle approached her. The woman was assaulted during the interaction, and the suspect then left the area.

The suspect is believed to be about 30 to 40 years old. Investigators are asking anyone who was near Greenland Drive and No. 5 Road between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. that day, and who may have witnessed the incident or seen a cyclist matching the description, to contact police. Officers are also seeking dash-camera, residential security-camera or other video from the area.

Corporal Melissa Lui, Richmond RCMP media relations officer, said even seemingly minor information or relevant footage could help advance the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2026-20373.
