London Heritage Farm to host Family Farm Day in Richmond
London Heritage Farm’s annual Family Farm Day returns Aug. 9 with performances, workshops, food and activities celebrating Richmond’s agricultural heritage.

London Heritage Farm will hold its annual Family Farm Day on Sunday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Richmond event is expected to draw more than 1,000 visitors; it attracted about 1,400 people in each of the past two years.
The program includes child-friendly entertainment, live music, puppet shows, a performance by the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra and workshops or displays from community groups including Lego, photography, carving and Rabbitats. A barbecue concession will sell hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks, while the farm will offer its London Lady tea, jams and jellies.
Organizers say the event highlights Richmond’s agricultural history and encourages visitors to learn more about the 138-year-old heritage site, its farmhouse, museum, gardens and 60 volunteer-tended allotment plots.
London Heritage Farm is at 6511 Dyke Rd. Admission is $20 for a family of five, $8 for adults, $6 for youth aged 11 to 17 and seniors, and $5 for children aged five to 10; children under five enter free. Parking along the South Dyke is limited, and a free shuttle will run from Homma elementary.
