U.S. says it struck three Iranian oil tankers after missiles targeted Navy warships
The U.S. military says its carrier and destroyer evaded multiple Iranian attacks without injuries before two tankers were disabled and an unladen vessel was destroyed.

The U.S. military says it struck three Iranian oil tankers after Navy warships were targeted with missiles.
In a statement Saturday, the military said an aircraft carrier and a destroyer evaded “multiple unprovoked Iranian attacks” and that no U.S. personnel were hurt.
It said two Iranian oil carriers were permanently disabled and a third tanker, which was unladen, was destroyed. The statement said the tankers were part of a shadow network that helps fund Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard.
Earlier, Iran accused the United States of attacking an Iranian tanker near Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf.
