Five Canadian business developments to watch this week
The Bank of Canada’s rate decision, key Statistics Canada reports and quarterly results from Couche-Tard, BRP and Lululemon are among this week’s business events.

Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. is scheduled to release first-quarter results for its 2027 financial year after markets close Tuesday, followed by an investor and analyst call Wednesday morning. The company recently made an offer for Polish convenience-store operator Zabka Group.
The Bank of Canada will announce its interest-rate decision Wednesday. Economists widely expect the central bank to leave its policy rate unchanged at 2.25 per cent after annual inflation rose to three per cent in July from 2.8 per cent in June.
Statistics Canada is also set to issue July international merchandise-trade figures Thursday and its August labour force survey Friday.
BRP Inc. will report second-quarter results before markets open Thursday and hold an investor call. Tariffs have weighed on the recreational-vehicle maker, whose products are largely made in Canada and Mexico but sold mainly in the United States.
Vancouver-based Lululemon Athletica Inc. will release second-quarter earnings after Thursday’s market close. Former Nike executive Heidi O’Neill is due to become the retailer’s chief executive on Sept. 8.
