The Vancouver Goldeneyes have named Alison Izzi their new general manager, making her the second person to hold the role in franchise history. She succeeds Cara Gardner Morey, who moved into the head coaching position in July after former coach Brian Idalski departed.

Izzi is an attorney and hockey executive who most recently worked in the NHL’s legal department, focusing on player safety and hockey operations. She previously served as vice-president of hockey operations and governance for the American Hockey League, and brings experience in player contracts, collective bargaining and league administration, including service on the AHL’s legal and collective bargaining committees.

Vancouver finished sixth among eight teams in its inaugural PWHL season, missing the playoffs by seven points. The Goldeneyes won their final four games and secured the first overall selection in the 2026 draft, using it to select University of Wisconsin and U.S. national team defender Caroline Harvey.

The PWHL will expand from eight to 12 teams for its fourth season, adding Hamilton, San Jose, Detroit and Las Vegas. Training camps begin Nov. 18, and the Goldeneyes will play two exhibition games in Nevada on Nov. 23 and 24 before a regular season expected to begin in early December. Gardner Morey said she hopes Izzi’s arrival will help the club take the next step in its second season and pursue a Walter Cup for Vancouver.
