Voters may also vote by mail. They can pick up a mail ballot at Election Headquarters at City Hall any time before election day. To be included in the final count, a completed mail-in ballot must be received at City Hall by 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. On Oct. 17, voters will elect one mayor, eight councillors and four school board trustees for School District 43 (Coquitlam – Area 1). Candidate information, including short biographies, is available at coquitlam.ca/candidates.

A provincial election has also been called for Saturday, Oct. 24. Eligible voters will elect a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for their riding. Campaigns for the two levels of government will run at the same time over the coming weeks, and provincial advance voting will overlap with Coquitlam’s general voting day on Oct. 17. For the municipal election, eligible voters may vote at any municipal voting location. For the provincial election, Elections BC will send “Where to Vote” cards to registered voters. The elections have different candidates, voting locations and voting days. Information about the provincial election is available from Elections BC.
