Eighteen suspects in Haiti president’s 2021 killing to be extradited to the U.S.
Eighteen suspects arrested in the July 2021 killing of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse are awaiting extradition to face trial in Florida.

Eighteen suspects arrested in the July 2021 killing of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse were awaiting extradition from Haiti to the United States on Sunday, ending a lengthy judicial process in Haiti.
U.S. Attorney Reding Quiñones said the suspects will face trial in Florida. He said investigators would continue pursuing those who financed, facilitated or supported the assassination, or committed crimes that made it possible.
Quiñones did not identify the suspects. Those still in Haiti awaiting trial include more than a dozen Colombian soldiers and a former Haitian government official. He said 30 people have been indicted in connection with Moïse’s killing, while FBI Special Agent in Charge Brett Skiles said multiple arrests were made in the United States and abroad on Sunday.
