Suspect arrested after “very concerning” home invasion and sexual assault in northern B.C.
Fort St. John RCMP say a man was identified and arrested within hours of police releasing his image. Officers had warned the public they were very concerned about his behaviour and feared he might reoffend.

Mounties have arrested a suspect in connection with a concerning home invasion and sexual assault reported this week in Fort St. John, in northern B.C. Police identified the man and took him into custody within hours of the RCMP releasing a suspect image Wednesday night.
Fort St. John RCMP previously said a stranger followed one of the female residents to a home on 87 Street late Tuesday and entered the property. In a news release the following day, the detachment said people inside initially scared him out of the residence, called police, and a neighbourhood search followed.
Authorities said the man later re-entered the home and sexually assaulted a second resident before being scared off again. It is unclear how much time passed between the first call to police and his return. Northern RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper declined to comment on the timeline when asked Wednesday. “We are not currently able to provide any more information,” she told CTV News.
The incident prompted a public warning. The RCMP described the suspect’s behaviour as “very concerning” and said they feared he might reoffend. This report includes files from CTV News Vancouver’s Becca Clarkson.
