Stage 1 water restrictions take effect in Metro Vancouver
Metro Vancouver is returning to Stage 1 water restrictions on Sept. 1, with the rules remaining in place until Oct. 15. Residents and businesses may water lawns once a week, on specified days based on whether an address is even or odd.

Metro Vancouver is returning the region to Stage 1 water restrictions effective Sept. 1. The restrictions will remain in place until Oct. 15, and the easing allows residents and businesses to water their lawns once per week.
Residential properties with even-numbered addresses may water on Saturdays, while odd-numbered addresses may water on Sundays. For non-residential properties, even-numbered addresses may water on Mondays and odd-numbered addresses on Tuesdays.
Trees, shrubs and flowers may be watered on any day, subject to time restrictions. Driveways, patios and other impermeable surfaces may be washed without restrictions. Rainwater, grey water and recycled water are exempt. Full details, including permitted watering hours, are available at metrovancouver.org/lawns.
