Surrey Knights defenceman, 17, wins Morgan Creek golf championship
Surrey Knights defenceman Liam Zemrau, 17, shot 77 and 74 to win the Morgan Creek Championship in a field of 95 golfers.

Surrey Knights defenceman Liam Zemrau has won the Morgan Creek Championship at age 17, finishing among a field of 95 golfers that was largely made up of adults.
Zemrau posted rounds of 77 and 74 for a 151 total on Aug. 15 and 16, between pre-season skates with his PJHL hockey team. It was his first time entering the club championship, and he said he had gone in simply hoping to play and have fun.
After the first round, he was second in gross scoring and first in net scoring, putting him in contention for the $700 prize and a PGA Tour caddie bag. He said he was surprised and happy to come away with the title.
A junior member at Morgan Creek for five years, Zemrau said he has played the course since childhood with his father and twin brother. He joined Surrey Knights last season after playing with Semiahmoo Minor Hockey and Delta Hockey Academy.
