Langley-based Tru Cooperative Bank, which includes Envision Financial, is donating $57,500 to wildfire-response and recovery organizations serving communities affected by the Bradley Creek, Brunswick Complex, Ainslie Creek and Bald Range fires.

The funding will support food security, emergency family assistance, Indigenous community support, animal welfare and longer-term recovery. Recipients include the Community Foundation North Okanagan’s Wildfire Response Fund, Okanagan Indian Band, BC SPCA, Boston Bar First Nation, several food banks and the South Okanagan Relief Fund.

Envision Financial president Tamara Hendsbee said evacuation affects everything from meals to pet care, and the funding is intended to support organizations already helping affected residents.

Tru is also contacting members in evacuated and impacted areas to offer payment deferrals, faster access to financial-hardship assistance and delayed mortgage funding for qualifying members.
