Blueberry spill in Mission leads to insecure-cargo ticket
Several crates of blueberries spilled onto a Mission roadway on July 16, prompting cleanup work and a ticket for operating with insecure cargo.

Several crates of blueberries spilled onto the roadway near the Horne Street overpass in Mission on July 16, according to Mission RCMP.
A witness who reported the incident saw a motorcycle slide through the fruit, police said. Other vehicles also drove through the spill. No injuries were reported, and the roadway was cleaned.
The driver blamed other farm workers for improperly loading the crates, police said, but officers reminded him that the driver is responsible for securing cargo. He was issued a ticket for operating with insecure cargo, and a road-maintenance crew completed the cleanup.
The incident followed a blueberry spill on Lougheed Highway on July 9, 2025, the second such Mission roadway incident in as many years.
