Cloverdale Chamber to hold two all-candidates meetings before municipal election
The Sept. 22 and 23 question-and-answer forums will cover issues important to voters in East Surrey.

The Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce will hold two all-candidates meetings before Surrey’s Oct. 17 municipal election.
Executive director Scott Wheatley said the forums will give voters in Cloverdale, Clayton and Campbell Heights opportunities to hear from mayoral and council candidates on issues important to East Surrey.
The council-candidate meeting is scheduled for Sept. 22 at Shannon Hall on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. Registration opens at 4:30 p.m., and the meeting runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The mayoral meeting will be held Sept. 23 at the Clova Theatre on 176th Street, with registration at 5:30 p.m. and the forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Wheatley said every mayoral candidate is booked to attend. Each party has been asked to send no more than two council candidates. KPU political science professor Gregory Millard will moderate both meetings.
The Chamber describes the events as non-partisan and requests pre-registration through cloverdalechamber.ca or info@cloverdalechamber.ca. Questions must be submitted in advance by Sept. 18.
