Two men charged in connection with two extortion-related Surrey shootings in 2025
Pardeep Singh and Saveer Khan, both 22, each face two counts of reckless discharge of a firearm tied to separate Surrey shootings. The provincial task force says it has secured 28 charges against 14 suspects since launching in September 2025.

Two men have been charged in connection with two Surrey shootings in 2025 after investigations by the BC Provincial Extortion Task Force. Police have described the incidents as extortion-related.
Kap’s Café, owned by Indian celebrity Kapil Sharma and located at 8496 Scott Road, was shot at three times last year. Police said the shootings were extortion-related. They took place early on July 10, on Aug. 7 and on Oct. 16. Staff were present in each case but were not injured.
Sgt. Vanessa Munn said the charges announced Friday relate to the Oct. 16 shooting at the café and an Oct. 12 shooting at a residence in the 13000-block of 103A Avenue, where a woman was injured. She said the task force took over both investigations after potential links were identified. Investigators have since worked closely with policing partners to advance them.
Pardeep Singh and Saveer Khan, both 22, each face one count of reckless discharge of a firearm related to the Oct. 12 shooting and another related to the Oct. 16 shooting.
Chief Supt. Duncan Pound said the charges should send another clear message to people involved in extortion-related violence that law enforcement is working together to protect public safety.
Established in September 2025 and led by the BC RCMP, the BC Provincial Extortion Task Force includes officers from the Surrey Police Service, Delta Police, Abbotsford Police, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – British Columbia. Munn said the task force has secured 28 charges against 14 suspects since it was launched.
