Burnaby driver fined $190 after Tesla found parked on sidewalk
Burnaby RCMP say a Langley woman received $190 in fines after her Tesla was found on a sidewalk outside the Starbucks at Holdom Station on Aug. 17.

A 53-year-old Langley woman was fined $190 after Burnaby RCMP found her Tesla parked on a sidewalk outside the Starbucks at Holdom Station, police say.
An officer beginning a shift at about 6:45 a.m. on Aug. 17 found the vehicle. RCMP said the total fine covered driving on the sidewalk and failing to display a front licence plate.
Cpl. Mike Kalanj told CTV News the driver said she did not know she could not drive or park on the sidewalk and intended to dispute the ticket. She and another person later left the Starbucks carrying several drinks, police said.
Kalanj said a parking lot was only metres away. The Tesla displayed an N decal, though he could not confirm whether the driver was newly licensed. Burnaby RCMP shared a photo of the incident on social media and noted that sidewalk driving was an unusual form of parking violation.
