Langley City Coun. Delaney Mack has announced she is running for mayor as part of the Achieving for Langley City slate.

The slate has also named Andrew Flitton, Rick Orlando, Simi Rajput, Michael Hylands and Scott Thompson as council candidates. Mack was first elected in 2022 and has operated a downtown small business established in 2008.

The group says its priorities are public safety, affordability, improved basic services, residents-first decision-making and good governance. Mack said residents have raised concerns about tax increases, public safety and major decisions made without sufficient public input.

Achieving for Langley City will run against Langley City First, the slate led by incumbent Mayor Nathan Pachal. That slate includes incumbent councillors Mike Solyom, Rosemary Wallace and Paul Albrecht, along with Shawn Caldera, Jeff Jacobs and Heather Creelman-Jenkins. The election is Oct. 17.
