City of Richmond invites community organizations to join 2027–28 artist program
Non-profits, service organizations, community associations, libraries and schools can apply to partner with artists on projects funded at $12,000 each.

The City of Richmond is inviting non-profit organizations, service organizations, community associations, libraries and schools to apply for its 2027–2028 Engaging Artists in Community Program. The program pairs community partners with artists to create projects addressing relevant issues or shared topics of interest.
Each commissioned project will receive $12,000 in funding. Projects may include public performances, sculptures, participatory art installations, hands-on activities, workshops, exhibitions, digital media-based artwork and other art forms.
Previous projects include Growing Together, in which Cara Guri worked with Brighouse Elementary School to explore nature through painting. Keely O’Brien’s Express Yourself was a year-long collaboration with youth through the Richmond Public Library, in partnership with Aspire Richmond, involving drawing, printmaking and storytelling through a neuro-diversity lens.
Applications from community organizations are due Friday, October 23, 2026. Artist projects will take place in 2027 and 2028. Information and the PDF application form are available at richmond.ca/PublicArtPrograms.
