Guildford Town Centre in Surrey has opened Secrets of the Haunted Bog, a free, walk-through Halloween attraction in a vacant unit at Entrance 6 on the mall’s west side. Opened Friday, Oct. 9, the temporary attraction takes about two minutes to walk through and features water-based haunted haze in low light, animatronics and mysterious creatures. Children under five may find it too spooky, while older children and adults can expect playful frights. The attraction’s website promises it is “now darker, scarier and back in a vacant unit”: https://www.guildfordtowncentre.com/stores/secrets-of-the-haunted-bog/.

Visitors are invited to bring a non-perishable food item for Surrey Food Bank. Guildford Town Centre will match each donated item with $2, to a maximum total match of $5,000. The attraction runs until Oct. 31. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. It is near London Drugs, across from Play Park on the mall’s lower level.

In other mall news, Lee’s Donuts is opening soon near the Halloween attraction. The business began at Granville Island Public Market in 1979 and now sells sweet treats at 11 locations across Metro Vancouver. Its website is https://www.leesdonuts.ca/.
