Woman hospitalized with critical injuries after Surrey collision, police say
A woman driving a Honda Civic was taken to hospital with critical injuries after a collision with a loaded semi-truck at a Surrey intersection Friday night, police say.

A woman was taken to hospital with critical injuries after her Honda Civic collided with a loaded semi-truck in Surrey on Friday night, according to police.
Surrey Police Service said officers responded shortly after 8 p.m. to the intersection of 176 Street and 32 Avenue. They found the Civic significantly damaged and provided emergency medical treatment to its driver until Surrey Fire Service and B.C. Emergency Health Services arrived.
Police said the adult woman was the Civic's only occupant. The driver of the semi-truck and loaded trailer, which had minor front-end damage, did not appear to be injured.
Surrey Police Service's Collision Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation. Police said it remains in its early stages and alcohol is not believed to have contributed. Parts of the intersection were closed for several hours overnight but have reopened.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information or dash-cam video is asked to call police at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-100398 (SP).
