Canada updates wildfire travel advisories for France, Spain and Greece
Canada is warning travellers to monitor local conditions in France, Spain and Greece as wildfires, smoke and possible transportation disruptions affect parts of those countries.

The federal government has updated travel advisories for France, Spain and Greece as wildfires affect parts of all three countries. Travellers are urged to follow local authorities, monitor local news and avoid affected areas.
The advisories warn that smoke can worsen air quality, particularly for people with respiratory conditions, and that conditions can change quickly. Evacuation orders and other local restrictions may affect travel plans.
France’s update cites forest fires in parts of Gironde, Landes and Var. Greece faces wildfire risks in mainland areas and tourist destinations, with hot, dry and windy conditions capable of worsening fires.
Spain is reporting fires in several regions, including Madrid, Catalonia, Andalusia, Galicia and Extremadura. The government warns of possible road and rail closures, disrupted transportation, poor visibility and impacts on air traffic. Canadians travelling abroad can register with the Registration of Canadians Abroad service for emergency notifications.
