Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has introduced an interactive map designed to help travellers find their way through the airport. The browser-based tool requires no download and can be used during trip planning or while travelling to the airport.

Users can search for retailers, airlines, water refill stations, security checkpoints, washrooms, restaurants and other locations. The map also provides directions from locations inside and outside the airport, including the Canada Line station. Travellers can zoom in on the airport layout or use the navigation bar to select features such as airlines.

Selecting All Nippon Airways (ANA), for example, highlights the airline’s check-in area. Users can enter their current location and set the ANA check-in area as their destination, much like using Google Maps. A route from the Canada Line directs travellers to turn left, take an escalator to Level 3, and then follow further directions after leaving the escalator.

YVR’s passenger journey tool provides step-by-step guidance through the airport, including terminal and gate information and reminders to complete tasks such as online check-in before arriving. Its Timeline tool flags travellers who may be at risk of missing a flight and directs them to a YVR guest experience representative for help reaching their gate.

Travellers can scan a digital QR code and enter a flight number for instructions on reaching their gate on time. The ArriveCan app remains available for travellers who want to submit a customs declaration before crossing the border. People flying to the United States can also use the free, secure Mobile Passport Control smartphone app to submit passport and customs declaration information before departure.
