Vehicle access to and from 162nd Street north of Fraser Highway will be closed from Sept. 21 to Oct. 12 as crews work at the intersection for the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain project. The traffic changes will remain in effect 24 hours a day during the three-week closure.
The B.C. Government’s Transportation Investment Corporation said the work includes road restoration activities. Crews are scheduled to work daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and delays are expected in the area.
Pedestrians can reach 162nd Street and 84th Avenue using the west sidewalk. Drivers can use alternate routes via 84th Avenue, 88th Avenue, 160th Street and 164th Street. The corporation asked travellers to follow signs and traffic-control personnel, adding that business and residential access will be maintained.
